On Sunday, February 8th, it is the International Day of Prayer and Awareness against human trafficking. On that day, we are asked to have the courage to look into the darkness and shine a light against human trafficking.
The initiative is promoted by the International Union of Superiors General in collaboration with the Pontifical Councils of Pastoral Care, of Migrants and Itinerant People, of Justice and Peace as well as the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, has gathered force also thanks to Pope Francis’ seal of approval. The day before yesterday Pope Emeritus Benedict's Germany humiliated hosts Brazil to take their spot in the World Cup final. After yesterday's penalty shootout Pope Francis's Argentina had secured their place in the final. The juxtaposition of the countries of two living Popes in the final of the football (or soccer, if you are so inclined) World Cup has inspired a number of jokes online.
