Another workshop for Lectors (Readers) will be arranged at Saint Henry's Cathedral Parish on June 14. The first Lectors workshop held on May 10th last was considered so useful by those who attended that a second workshop is arranged. It is intended for newcomers as well as those who attended the first workshop in May. People who read in other languages than English are also welcome, but the course language is English. | Lectors' Workshop |

The Friends of the Bridgittine Sisters Association, or Birgittalaissirarten Ystävät ry, has launched a competition to find a cake or pastry to celebrate Blessed Hemming. This year is the quincentennial of Bishop Hemming's beatification, so the association feels it's high time the 14th-century Bishop of Turku gets a cake.
The association encourages everybody and anybody to come up with a recipe for a Blessed Hemming Cake. In his lifetime, Bishop Hemming was known for his simple culinary habits, but 500 years on from his beatification, we are looking for something that would took and taste nice on the coffee table. The recipe that wins the competition will be named the Official Cake of the association. Please send in your recipes to vahatalo(at)iki.fi before midsumer. Do include a photo of your creation as well as an explanation of the connection between the pastry and Blessed Hemming. The recipes will be tested in the autumn and an impartial jury will select the winner. Bless your efforts, the Blessed Hemming Bake-off is now officially on!
